A Big ‘Ol Life Update + Some Recent Work

Hey guys! I just wanted to give you an update on my ever-changing life!

First things first:

I’m going back to school!

After six years, thousands of miles traveled, and thousands of photos taken, I’ve decided that it’s time to finish up that degree. For those who don’t know me, I was a computer science (programming) major at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville until dropping out at the beginning of my senior year to pursue several personal projects. One of those projects led me here and I really wouldn’t do things any other way.

However, I’d like to put those credits to use. I’ve transferred them to the University of Arkansas and decided to get my degree in graphic design!

Why design?

I’ve recently fallen in love with marketing and the art of building a business. I’ve had several side businesses over the years. For a while I built custom drums (including for a member of Evanescence and Saving Abel!), I had a tuba resource website, a game design project, and several ad revenue generating car forums. All of these projects required advertising and smart marketing to get off the ground and I found out that I both really loved this process and was pretty good at it.

Additionally, working as the social media marketing coordinator at Ozark Natural Foods really made me fall in love with marketing all over again. This design degree will help me reach my future goal working at a brand building agency and fill in the gaps in my self-taught knowledge.

With that out of the way, I’d love to show you some of my recent work:
