Pacific Northwest Wedding Photographer with a Dark Dreamy Film Look

Hey there websurfer!
I'm Mia Quain, The Nikon Kidd! I'm a travelling Port Townsend-based wedding and adventure photographer with a love for everything dark, moody, candid, and cinematic. I love storytelling through photos and have more than a decade of experience roaming the country, looking for stories to tell.

I built my career while hitchhiking and trainhopping across the US with a mandolin, my doggie Ese, and a cheap starter Nikon.

When I started out, I wanted a way to remember my trips and the people I met for the rest of my life.

Pretty soon I realized that it's more fun to take photos with others! A photograph is a memory and something to cherish forever. I love sharing those memories with the people I meet.

And more than anything, I love helping people hold onto those memories forever.

About Mia

Kind Words from Lovely Folks

"I fell in love with her photos"

It was very in the moment photography, raw engagement sessions and weddings, it was really beautiful. I wanted to surprise my girlfriend for our anniversary with a photoshoot and Mia was so great and suggested places to me, it made the experience THAT much better. The photoshoot was great, we had such a blast and Mia made us feel so comfortable. We can't wait to shoot with her again!

Jade & Ariel - Kansas City

"She has such a gift for making you feel comfortable while also capturing these really natural, cinematic moments."

She captured the big moments beautifully, but also the small in-between moments that we did not even realize were happening. Looking back, those are some of the photos that mean the most. I cannot recommend Mia enough. She is incredibly talented, kind, calm, and genuinely amazing at what she does.

Claudia & Ricky - Jaco, Costa Rica

"I want to make sure I spread the word on your wonderful photography"

Thanks ever so much for the photos. They are exactly what we'd hoped for! Appreciate the little details and moments you captured, not just of us, but our loved ones as well.
